Amateur astronomer's handbook 4th ed. / prepared by James Muirden.

This is a superb handbook for advanced amateur astronomers who want more than the bare, simple intro to instruments and observation. It contains information that is very hard to find. Nowadays, it is a little dated, but the fundamentals of instrument design and use are unchanged, and brilliantly explained.
