James Herriots Favourite Dog Stories

"When I decided I wanted to be a vet," James Herriot wrote in his introduction to this volume -- his very last completed piece of writing -- "I knew that I wanted to be a dog doctor, so I could spend all my time with dogs." As everyone knows, James Herriot became much more than a dog doctor. But no animal was dearer to his heart, and no animal provided him with more heartwarming and wonderful tales, than man's best friend. Now, for the first time, ten of James Herriot's most beloved stories about dogs are collected in one gorgeous illustrated edition: James Herriot's Favorite Dog Stories. Brought to life by the vibrant watercolors of Lesley Holmes, this collection of tales is a welcome gift from one of the greatest storytellers of all time -- James Herriot. - Jacket flap.
