Spider's Web

A SWASHBUCKLING TENANT

When novelist Fletcher Sims decided to rent the garage apartment of a Georgia university professor, he imagined his landlady to be a doddering white-haired matron. But Silvia Fitzpatrick took him by surprise. Her dark, shiny hair had a jaunty bounce, and her trim figure defied the fact that she was a grandmother. Despite her sleek grace, she possessed a fiery spirit that wasn't concealed by her calm demeanor...and Fletch was a sucker for spirited women. Perhaps she would be the one to cure him of this tired, burned-out feeling, the writer's block that threatened to end his career.

From the first moment she saw him standing at her back door, Silvia knew he was trouble. Sleek, tanned, and barefoot, his body looked as wild and sensual as the world- famous hero of his novels, Spider Malone. Fletch reminded Silvia of the power of desire...and the agony of the morning after. She'd worked hard to gain the respect of this conservative university town. A man like Fletch Sims could destroy her reputation with one swashbuckling kiss.

She tried to avoid him, but Fletch had a way of turning up at the most awkward times. And with each meeting, she realized that Fletch had a lot in common with Spider Malone, the suave man of action, equally welcome in the boardroom and the bedroom. Like Spider, Fletch was a man who got what he wanted. And there was no doubt about his intentions toward Silvia. He was sweeping her into the romantic adventure of a lifetime...and she was hopelessly caught in Spider's web.
